I would like to take the opportunity to write about my experience working with Kristine Griffin while finding and purchasing our home in Morehead City in the Spring and summer of 2007. I was in the process of moving with my wife and son from Lexington, Kentucky and conducting business in the Crystal Coast area, spending approximately five days out of each month in Atlantic Beach. We had our house on the market in Lexington and I would take two or three days from my business time in Atlantic Beach in order to "house hunt" with Kristine. This went on until we found the house in which we currently reside in late April. During that time working with Kristine, a routine evolved wherein Kristine would communicate with me in Kentucky via email to provide new and interesting houses that I hadn't yet seen for scheduling on my next trip to the coast.
I had initially arrived with an extensive list of wants and desires regarding a new house for my family. Without flinching, Kristine dove into the list and sorted out items which were realistic compared with others which were less than realistic. Kristine knew the area, but at no time did she ever try to steer me or sell me on a house that I had not previously expressed interest in. Even then, her urgings and suggestions were based on her knowledge of me and my situation balanced against the reality of the houses we visited and was not born of any particular desire to sell any particular house or to get me into a house and move on to someone else. Kristine treated me like I was her best friend come to town to find a house and we would sit out in her Suburban and tour the area. Kristine's advanced planning made the most of my trips to Atlantic Beach such that I never felt any time with her was wasted. Further, in coming from the largest metropolitan area in Kentucky to Morehead City, we realized that the selection of houses might be less than we were used to, and Kristine was sensitive to this as well. If areas that I suggested were, in Kristine's mind, unacceptable based on the standards she knew we would apply, she still indulged my curiosity and we rode through neighborhoods and other areas that I suggested or expressed interest in. All this points to the accommodating nature of Kristine Griffin. While never losing focus on our ultimate objective, Kristine would accommodate me whenever possible on my trips to the coast.
Finally, we decided on a house and commenced the offer process. This was especially delicate since my wife had not seen the house, except in photographs. Kristine was especially helpful throughout the negotiations for purchase of the house and, once the details were in place and an offer was accepted, Kristine remained attentive and professional throughout the entire closing and moving process. Overall, we grew to appreciate Kristine more as a friend than a realtor although, even in such a capacity, her professionalism never wavered. Overall, we would not hesitate to recommend Kristine to friends, family or anyone else who was interested in Crystal Coast real estate. Kristine is just a super person and a super realtor and we will never forget our experience in purchasing our Morehead City home.
